The Notification Service enables communication of event-related information to appropriate users or roles. The Provide Details for Notification Service Connector section of the New Service Group wizard helps you configure a notification service.

Select Database Configuration | To create a Database Configuration | Select the New Database Configuration option from the drop-down list and provide the required information in the dialog box that appears. |
To continue with an existing Database Configuration | Select it from the drop-down list. The associated fields are automatically filled. | |
Advanced Options | Expand the group box and provide the necessary details. Note: Setting cursor cache size to a high value would cause high memory consumption. Based on the application usage, adminstrator has to set an optimal value. This is also applicable to the Query Cache size. For example: The optimal cursor cache size can be between 50 - 100, subjective to the application usage. |

Field | Description |
---|---|
Number of Threads | The number of messages that can be triggered simultaneously. The default value is five. If you increase the number of threads, the number of messages that can be triggered simultaneously will also increase, but at the cost of memory. |
Default Dispatch Timeout (in seconds) | Specify the timeout period (in seconds) for that dispatch logic, if the default dispatch logic is used for delivering mail. The default value is zero. |
E-Mail Connector Service | To specify a mail connector, click , select the required mail connector from the Choose E-mail Service dialog box, and click OK. |
URL Prefix | Specify the URL prefix in the URL Prefix text box, if you have configured the Notification Service Container to use the E-mail service. The URL prefix will be used to send mail. The syntax for URL Prefix is "http or https:// hostname: portnumber". |
Default E-mail ID | The default E-mail address. If you do not provide a sender's E-mail address while sending a notification, the system checks for the E-mail address in the participant preferences. If the E-mail address is not supplied in the participant preferences page either, the default E-mail ID that you supply in the Service Container configuration page is used. |
Default Mail Content | The default message to be sent along with the notification. |

Start Task Mandatorily before Complete | Select this check box to force the user to start the task mandatorily, before completing it. By default, this check box is cleared. |
